Gaurav Vaz

Music has been part of Gaurav’s life for as long as he can remember. His foray into the world of rock music started with his first band ‘Phenom’, where he played the rhythm guitars and sang the lead vocals initially. He then took up the bass guitar and has never looked back since.

He has been playing the bass guitar since 2002 and has developed his own style of playing. Inspired by wonderful bassists like Geddy Lee, Nathan East, Victor Wooten, Flea, Sting etc.., his playing style complements the bands sound and adds that subtle definition and character to it. Gaurav derives influences from various different styles of music from Metal to Progressive Rock to Pop to Gospel Music

Gaurav hopes that one day the true value of bassists will be widely appreciated and all bass guitarist jokes will cease to exist but until that day, he will proudly carry the mantle and keep the fire burning. He is also of the opinion that if you listen closely around you, you will realize that God is a bass guitarist!
